The accomplishments of the JDJ Band are the result of many long hours of hard work and total dedication by an elite group of motivated young people. This consistency of success is a tribute to the deep-rooted traditions and the foundations of pride upon which the JDJ Band is built. As you stand on the threshold of membership, we, the alumni and present members of this organization, ask of you only this – Respect our traditions, learn to stand tall and feel our pride, and always give your utmost for the organization. Together, in strength and friendship, we will succeed.

The guidelines for the JDJHS Band

As a member of this marching band, you will be expected to abide by the following guidelines:

The Three A’s

Attendance - If you attend regularly, you will maximize your potential for improvement and the goal of being the best you can be.

Attitude - When your attitude is positive and you are eager to learn, you can achieve your goals.

Ability - Your ability is a direct result of achieving the above 2 A’s.

As a band member, you will be measured against the 3 A’s. This is our standard!

THE GOAL

The goal of this band is to be the best we can be by “preparing for success” and we must always rehearse with this in mind. Actions speak louder than words. We will work through rehearsal after rehearsal after rehearsal to meet our ultimate goal. Competition will be secondary. We will be very competitive if we work toward our goal. Remember, competitions are won in the rehearsal room and on the practice field!
